How We Test

Our Scoring System

Every tool on 1vs.app is evaluated across four dimensions, each rated on a 1–4 star scale:

  • Price — Value for money. Does the free tier deliver real value? Is the paid plan reasonably priced for the features offered?
  • Features — Capability breadth and depth. Does the tool cover all essential use cases? Are there standout features that competitors lack?
  • UX — User experience. Is the interface intuitive? How fast is the tool? Is onboarding smooth?
  • Reviews — Real user sentiment. We aggregate reviews from TrustPilot, G2, Reddit, and other public sources to capture authentic user experiences.

The overall score (0–100) is computed as the average of all four dimensions, scaled by 25. We never store the overall score — it is always calculated from the raw dimension ratings.

User Review Data

Our review data comes from publicly available sources:

  • TrustPilot reviews
  • G2 crowd ratings
  • Reddit community discussions
  • Product Hunt feedback
  • Capterra verified reviews

All quotes are paraphrased from multiple real reviews — never direct copies. We attribute all feedback to "Verified User" and never use real usernames or platform handles.

Our Process

For each tool, we:

  1. Sign up and use the tool with a standard test workflow
  2. Compare results against competitor outputs on the same test images/documents
  3. Read at least 50 user reviews across multiple platforms
  4. Test pricing claims against actual billing
  5. Rate each dimension independently

We re-evaluate tools quarterly to ensure our ratings reflect current product quality and pricing.
